This piece was inspired by one of the my favorite drives in the world—California’s Pacific Coast Highway. The stretch through Big Sur, especially near the Bixby Bridge, has a kind of magic that’s hard to put into words. The cliffs rise and fall with the Pacific crashing against the rocks far below. But what really stays with me are the colors—the green grasses that ripple across the hills, the deep rust and slate tones in the rocks, and that ever-changing blue-green of the ocean. It’s wild and breathtaking, yet peaceful all at once. I wanted this painting to capture that feeling—that moment when nature’s beauty just stops you in your tracks.
The original has sold but prints are still available in my Etsy Shop.
